Swiss CEMS Hiking Weekend
Friday, July 22 – Sunday, July 24, 2016
Enjoy a hiking weekend in the Alpstein mountains with overnight stays in famous Aescher cottage (Friday) and in a cosy hotel in the picturesque Appenzell village (Saturday). Highlights are the five hours hike to Säntis (2504m), cable-car rides and a guided tour at the Appenzeller Bitter (herbal spirit) production site.
- Friday – July 22
– Individual travel to Wasserauen (train or car – parking available)
– Cable-cabin ride to Ebenalp at 18.45h (latest), option: 1.5 hours walk
– Mass room stay (single/double room upgrade possible) + breakfast at Gasthaus Ebenalp
– Dinner (not included) at Aescher Restaurant (see picture)
Proper insurance and mountain gear (alpine boots, weather-proof and warm clothing, backpack, water bottle, sun cream, sun glasses, flashlight and swimwear/towel) is the responsibility of each participant. Program might change depending on weather conditions.

CEMS Alumni Members (lifelong & 2016) pay CHF 140 with half fare card, otherwise CHF 180.
For other CEMS Alumni and guests, the fee is CHF 180 with half fare card, otherwise CHF 220.
