CEMS V4 Conference 2017

The V4 Conference is an annual CEMS event in Central Europe, hosted on a rotating basis by CEMS member schools fo the Visegrad Group. The 2017 edition will be hosted at The University of Economics, Prague from April 5th – 8th under the theme Behavioural Economics.

Bringing World Class Education to Refugees: CEMS Partners with Kiron Open Higher Education

Less than 1% of refugees globally have access to higher education.  CEMS has recently partnered with Kiron Open Higher Education to help combate this issue. Kiron believes that everybody has the right to fulfill their potential and improve their life prospects through education. Their vision is to provide millions of refugees worldwide with the opportunity to graduate with an accredited university degree, free of charge. They also leverage blended learning, where online courses are complemented with live and direct online tutoring and offline services like their Buddy Programme, Mentoring Programme, Study Hubs and Career Services. We connected with Kiron’s Fabienne Huber to learn more.

Investing in Start-ups

Christian Winkler graduated from CEMS in 2007, having studied at the Rotterdam School of Management, Erasmus University as his home school and Vienna University of Economics and Business as his host school. Winkler is a financial services professional with more than eight years of experience with Credit Suisse AG, spanning two years in Digital Banking and investment advisory digitization, four years in wealth management with a focus on the Latin American market, and more than two years in corporate strategy and M&A. Together with Benedikt Kronberger and Frank Appeldorn he recently joined the board of the CEMS Global M&A, VC and PE Alumni Group. Winkler joined the start-up b-to-v in 2016 as an investment manager in the advisory team and shares his experience.
