The Student Board and CEMS Entrepreneurs organized the annual CEMS Startup Challenge at the Career Forum in Budapest on the 2nd and 3rd of November 2017. The Startup Challenge was initiated last year to give entrepreneurial CEMS students and alumni the chance to connect with one another, mentors, and Corporate Partners. This year, ten teams competed in two stages and received one-on-one mentoring to help develop their ideas and startups.

According to the World Wildlife Fund, 17% of the world’s forests have been lost in the last 50 years due to deforestation. In the first year of the CEMS Forest project, “over 90,000 tons of CO2 emissions from forest clearing and burning prevented during the first 18 months of the project, equal to taking 25,000 cars off the road.” We spoke with Student Board Representative, Robert Grey, to learn more about his work in Korea to reverse the effects of deforestation.

The CEMS Alumni of the Year is a joint campaign by the CAA in close collaboration with the CEMS Student Board, which gives the CEMS community the opportunity to learn about CEMS alumni on a monthly basis and vote for the favorite candidate as the CEMS Alumni of the Year. Claudia Belli has won the CEMS Alumna of the Year for the Senior Leadership Category. CEMS sat down with Claudia to learn more about this years’ winner.
